Two Weeks Notice
Out of the nearly 13 years that I’ve been a professional writer, I’ve had to write some pretty tough stuff. Clearly, some of that has been harder to write than what I’m about to tell you, but this one is probably in the Top 10 Crappy Things I’ve Had to Write:
As of Friday, June 4, Prindiville will be stepping down as the artist of Hello With Cheese.
OK.
Take a deep breath.
(That might be more of an instruction for me than you the reader).
Prindiville and I created Hello With Cheese back in December of 2008. We were methodical about it, getting the site ready and a solid buffer of strips. Back then, it was a once-a-week joke comic, erroneously labeled as being “mostly fart jokes.” Then we went insane, jumping up to five comics a week. And in what will finish as a run of 250 comics created by dern and Prindiville, we will be a perfect 100% on getting updates out on time (unless you count the one time we updated at 10 a.m. EST instead of 6:30 a.m. EST – again, totally my bad on that one).
Prindiville is an ultimate professional at getting the strips in and polished. I rather enjoyed the fact that HWC No. 1 looks a lot like HWC No. 100, and since I’ve already peeked ahead, I can assure you that No. 250 is every bit as high quality.
Because he’s always had the buffer, which has averaged about 3-4 weeks in advance, Prindiville’s last day of comicking Hello With Cheese was actually two weeks ago. Since then, he’s been working on a few different Cheese-related projects. We’ll get at least one of those announced here before the end of the week.
The title of “two weeks notice” is a bit of a misnomer. Technically, Prindiville gave me two MONTHS notice, which we’ve been using to carefully pick the new Hello With Cheese artist. We’ll announce the artist next week. For now, I just wanted to put this on the front page so that people have a place to comment about Prindiville. Let us know what your favorite bit of art from him has been, what you dug about his style, or why you think he still hasn’t killed me.

100% updates, I am impressed but not surprised. Bryan is a professional. The kind with a young Natalie Portman following him around with a six shooter and a potted plant.

Bryan,
You’re a very funny, strange little man who draws very funny, strange little comics. Loved your work here, and can’t wait to see what you do next!

Every single thing Prindi created was newspaper worthy.
And if I’m lying and it wasn’t, it’s dern’s fault.

Gonna miss ya man. Your work and your last name are two of the coolest things I’ve ever seen in webcomics AND paper comics.
